Women's Soccer Defeated in Regular-Season Closer

ADRIAN, Mich. - On Tuesday evening, the Adrian women's soccer team and the visiting team from Albion College played a physically competitive 90-minute contest. When the dust finally settled at Docking Stadium, it was the Britons who came away with the 1-0 victory.

The result takes the Bulldogs out of contention for a first-round bye in the upcoming conference postseason. They will now await the outcomes of the other in-league matches that were also played on Tuesday night to determine when are where they will compete in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Despite an evenly matched evening in terms of total shots, the black and gold held the edge in shots on goal, mustering six on Albion goalkeeper, Romee Natschke.

The visitors found the different-making shot, however, tallying the game's lone goal in the 28th minute off the foot of Mia Crawford.

Adrian continued to press hard into the second half, outshooting the Brits 3-1 in the finally frame. The Albion defense stood their ground, nevertheless, not allowing the 'Dogs to garner many quality opportunities down the stretch.

McKenna Mahoney, Kaitlyn Dake and Megan Louwers each totaled two shots on the goal for the Bulldogs, while Leah Courtney also contributed a shot for the home side.

After completing their third game in six nights, the black and gold wrap up their regular season at 10-8, including 5-3 in conference-play.

As mentioned previously, Adrian moves on to the MIAA playoffs, which are set to begin this Saturday.
