Football Takes Down MIAA Conference Favorite

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College football team (3-3, 1-1 MIAA) hosted the MIAA conference favorite Albion College (4-1, 0-1 MIAA). The Bulldog defense came ready to play holding the Britons to seven points. Adrian put up 21 points in the first half to bring home the 21-7 victory.

Adrian struck first on it's first possession of the game with a 16-yard rushing touchdown for Steven Moses to lead 7-0. At the start of the second quarter, Donald Scott recorded an 8-yard touchdown pass from Jack Wurzer to lead 14-0. Ten minutes later, the Bulldogs took advantage of blown coverage. Wurzer hit Gage Palus for a 79-yard touchdown pass to go up 21-0.

Albion got on the board with a touchdown with 12:40 remaining in the game to trail 21-7.

Adrian's defense forced an interception and three turnover on downs during the game. Kyle Minder led the defense with 12 total tackles followed by 11 from Brandon Kwiatkowski. Tyrelle Deener and Jimerie Cannon record seven each. Cannon record the interception for Adrian in the endzone to save a touchdown.

Wurzer threw for 252 yards on 13 completions with two touchdowns. Steven Moses led the rushing game for Adrian with 98 yards rushing on 20 attempts with a touchdown. Jimmie Clark and Malik Ray combined for 64 yards rushing on 18 attempts. Donald Scott and Preston Smith hauled in four reception each  combining for 111 yards receiving while Gage Palus recorded 91 yards on two receptions.

The Bulldogs return to action at home on Saturday, October 16 again Alma College. Next Saturday marks the Adrian College Family Weekend that caps off with the football game at 5:00 PM.
