INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - At the Riviera Club, the homestanding Ravens pulled off the sweep of the Adrian tennis team by defeating the Bulldog men 6-3, and narrowly sneaking past the women 5-4.
On the women's side of the action, the visitors gained the early edge on their competition with two wins in doubles. The combo of
Jules Johnson and
Elizabeth Himebauch (4-2) opened the afternoon with an 8-3 defeat of Anderson's Anna Creech and Morgan Nation.
Then, the pair of
Regan Snyder and
Liv Depies (4-1) continued their stellar season with a nail-biting 8-7 (10-8) victory to give the black and gold a 2-1 lead heading into the singles portion of the day.
The later segment of the day was not as kind to the Bulldog women, as the hosts claimed four of the six possible points to clinch the dual outright.
Johnson (5-0) maintained her perfect form on the year with a 6-4, 6-0 result over Creech, and Snyder (3-1) turned in a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) scoreline to knock off Anderson's Claire Hannaford.
As for the men, the duo of
Brandon Falk and
Ryan Cuddy provided standout performances for the locals, winning first as a pair before taking their respective singles matches.
While it was their first victory of the season as a double's combo, they both improved to 3-0, respectively in singles competition.
Saturday's match in Indiana marked the end of the Bulldogs' fall portion of their 2021-22 season. The spring campaign opens on March 19 for the men, and March 26 for the women.
