ORLANDO, Fla. - At the U.S.T.A. National Training Center, the Bulldog women's tennis team began the spring portion of its 2021-22 season with a pair of matches against Piedmont University and Concordia College-Moorhead

Match 1: Adrian 1, Piedmont 8
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, the Bulldogs and Lions squared off on the courts, with the team from Georgia emerging victorious.
Piedmont swept the doubles portion of the competition, and won five of six against the 'Dogs in singles action.
Elizabeth Himebauch secured Adrian's lone point on the morning, defeating Maggie Moody in straight-sets; 6-2, 6-4.
Jules Johnson and
Liv Depies turned in competitive outings in their respective singles matches, but both suffered defeats in three sets.

Match 2: Adrian 4, Concordia-Moorhead 5
Despite finishing equal with the Cobbers in singles, the opposition picked up the ultimate-match winning point in doubles.
Johnson and Himebauch continued their dominance as a pair, routing Raquel Egge and Anna Hacker of Concordia-Moorhead 8-1.
Then, in singles competition, the duo went on to win their respective matches in straight-sets, followed by a victory by Depies, but it was not enough to squeeze ahead of the Cobbers.
 The Bulldog women will continue their Spring Break schedule on Wednesday against Regis College at 3 p.m.
