ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Adrian College men's basketball team (1-3, 0-0 MIAA) traveled to Mount Union on Saturday for the first game of the MIAA/OAC Crossover Tournament. Mount Union went off for a big second half while the Bulldogs battled injuries and fell 97-60.
The Bulldogs shot 40% in the first half while Mount Union shots 42% and led Adrian at halftime 40-30. With three of the Adrian's everyday starters out of the lineup with injuries, the Bulldogs struggled in the second half shooting just 29% from the floor.
Jesse Lawson Jr. led the Bulldogs in scoring with 12 points to go with six rebounds and a block.
De'Ovion Price and
P'hariz Watkins finished with 9 each with Watkins adding six rebounds as well.
Jalen Paul recorded seven points with five rebounds.
With
Robert Warrick,
Connor Pelham, and
Andrew Larson missing from the lineup, Adrian was outrebounded 43-30 and only scored 28 points in the paint which ranks low compared to the team's recent games.
The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow Sunday, November 21 at Muskingum University to complete the weekend series. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
