SYLVANIA, Ohio - At the Russell J. Ebeid Rec Center, the homestanding Gray Wolves utilized an efficient effort from the floor and a physical presence in the paint to roll past the visiting Adrian men's basketball team 89-66.
Lourdes flexed its muscles below the iron, corralling 52 points in the paint en route to a 55.9 percent final mark from the field.
Adrian, on the other hand, shot below 0.500 for the first time in three games, connecting on just 27-of-64 total attempts (0.422).
Wednesday afternoon's contest was neck and neck off the opening tip. Both sides trading jabs, eventually leading to a 9-8 advantage for the Bulldogs off a
Robert Warrick three-pointer, his first of three on the day.
From that moment on, however, the momentum shifted to the home team as the Gray Wolves proceeded to turn in a 10-0 scoring run over a five-minute span midway through the first half.
The black and gold could never fully recover from Lourdes' initial attack, only managing to pull as close as nine points within their opposition's lead.
Four different Bulldogs posted double-figures in scoring, including a team-high 15 from
Kendall Chrismon, who has now led Adrian in scoring in each of the last two games.
Warrick closed the afternoon with 13 points, while
Connor Pelham and
Andrew Larson finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively, with an additional team-best 8 rebounds from the latter.
The men's basketball team now heads into its holiday break, and is scheduled to be back on the hardwood on December 29 and 30 at the Bluffton Holiday Tournament in Bluffton, Ohio.
