Women's Basketball Rekindles Winning Ways; Defeats Earlham

RICHMOND, Ind. - At the Druley Performance Gym, the Adrian women's basketball team snapped its six-game losing-skid in dominating fashion, posting a season-high 85 points and 50 rebounds en route to a 37-point victory over the homestanding Quakers.

Senior Chelsea Palmer led all scorers with 21 points, becoming the second different Bulldog to surpass the 20-point threshold this season, joining Rylee Campbell. She also led her side with seven total boards.

As a team, the black and gold nearly set a new season-best from the floor, knocking down 34-of-70 (0.486).

The action was neck-and-neck in the early moments, with Adrian opening up a 9-8 lead after only six minutes.

From that moment on, however, the 'Dogs settled into a rhythm, closing the first quarter on a 12-2 run, including seven-straight points from Palmer.

In the following frame, Adrian picked up right where it had left off, rolling out a 13-1 stretch over a seven-minute span to fluster the Quakers into seven second-quarter turnovers.

By the end of the night, the Bulldogs had produced 29 points off of Earlham miscues, a majority of that total coming in the paint, in which the locals dictated 52-18.

The third quarter saw Adrian match its season-high for points in a single-quarter with 27, tying a mark set back on November 13 at Mount Aloysius.

All told, 16 different Bulldogs contributed points on the evening, setting another season-high.

Jordan Phillips was lights-out from behind the three-point arc, converting on all three of her attempts for nine points.

Makayla Clement added eight points, four rebounds and three blocks, while Bailey Taylor chipped in seven points in ten minutes off the bench.

Adrian will look to win back-to-back contests for the second time this season when it returns home to host Bluffton tomorrow evening at 6 p.m.
