ADRIAN -- The Adrian College men's basketball team travels to Bluffton University to play in the Bluffton Holiday Tournament. The Bulldogs will play two games back-to-back days beginning with Bluffton on Wednesday and Miami University-Hamilton on Thursday. Adrian heads into the tournament with a struggling 1-8 record and look to bounce back after a two week break.
The last time the Bulldogs took the court was on December 15 on the road at Lourdes University. Adrian struggled and went on to fall 89-66.
Kendall Chrismon led the way with 15 points for Adrian followed by 13 from
Robert Warrick and 11 from
Connor Pelham.
The Bulldogs will be short a couple of players for the tournament due to COVID-19 protocols.
On the season so far, Adrian has averaged 75.1 points per game while allowing 85.6. They are shooting 45.5% from the floor and on 24.9% from beyond the arch. The team has struggled at the free throw line this season shooting only 60.4% as a team.
Adrian is led by
Connor Pelham who averages 16.4 points per game to go along with 8.7 rebounds per game to lead the team. Pelham also leads in field goal percentage (49.4%), made free throws (20), and steals (13).
Robert Warrick leads the Bulldogs in minutes per game with 30.5 resulting in 9.8 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, 20 assists, and five blocks.
Kendall Chrismon has led the team in scoring the last two games with a high of 17 points against Case Western and 15 points against Lourdes.
Adrian opens the tournament against Bluffton who comes in with a 2-6 record on the season. The Beavers defeated Hiram and Kalamazoo on the season both at home. The team has struggled to score this season only averaging 63.8 points per game, but have only allowed an average of 71.9 points per game.
Miami Hamilton is 12-2 to start the year and are currently on a two-game losing streak. The NAIA DII school is 4-1 against NCAA DIII schools with wins over Maranatha Baptist, Defiance, Asbury, and Bluffton. The team has shot 47% from the field this season resulting in 81.1 points per game.
