ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College women's volleyball team opened it's season at home against crosstown rival Siena Heights University. The Bulldogs fell to the Saints by a score of 3-0 losing all three sets 25-22, 25-18, and 25-21.
Adrian struggled late in the first set and finished with eight kills and ten errors on 35 total attacks. The Bulldogs finished the second set with 42 attacks with eight kills and nine errors. Adrian finished the match with it's best set of the night compiling an attack percentage of .121 with 12 kills and eight errors.Â
Ayden Cribbs led all scorers with 11 kills on the night followed by
Mallory Dorow and freshman
Emily McGeorge.
Hannah Sugg and McGeorge totaled two aces a piece while freshman Maddy Rithcie led the Bulldogs with three blocks.
Hailey Farrell finished the match with 23 assists, and
Mya Minjares finished with 13 digs.
The Bulldogs return to action on the road as they travel to Berea College in Berea, Kentucky for their first tournament of the season. The first match is scheduled for Friday, September 3 at 6:00 PM.
