In the first match of the season for the Bulldogs, the home side secured victories in one doubles contest and two of the six singles matches.
The freshmen duo of
Liv Depies and
Regan Snyder took home the doubles point for Adrian, defeating the Polar Bears' Flo Sanchez and Regan Landis 8-6.
In singles action, it was the locals' upperclassmen coming out on top as senior,
Jules Johnson and junior,
Elizabeth Himebauch each tallied wins. Johnson upended Ohio Northern's Olivia Kesner 6-0, 6-3, while Himebauch turned in a close 7-6 (2), 7-6 (5) victory over the visitors' Victoria Santana.

Later on, Sunday afternoon, the women's tennis team returned to the Craft Tennis Complex to conclude their opening weekend in style.
The Bulldogs recorded their first 9-0 sweep since March 22, 2021 against Concordia (Mich.), claiming all three doubles matches and a half dozen singles duals.
The combos of Johnson and Himebauch,
Bethany Posey and
Vasiliki Gargasoulas, and Madison Wagner and Depies each won their respective doubles contests 8-0.
In the singles portion of the match,
Jocelyn Smith,
Jamie Nicholls, Johnson, Gargasoulas, Depies and Posey all emerged victorious, with Johnson improving to 2-0 on the season after taking the win in the morning.
The women's next match is slated for September 11 at Bethel College in Indiana. The start time for that match will be announced at a later date.
