ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's basketball team snapped its losing streak on Saturday with a road win against Kalamazoo College, 83-71. The Bulldogs moved to 2-11 on the year and grabbed its first conference win of the season. This week, Adrian is scheduled to host Alma College followed by a weekend game on the road at Calvin University to continue MIAA play.

The Bulldogs currently hold a two-game winning streak against Alma defeating them twice last season including a 76-67 win at home. Alma is currently 1-10 to start the year and have lost ten in a row with an 0-5 road record. The Scots average 64.7 points per game and only 57.5 in conference play. The team shoots 42.4% from the floor, 28.9% from beyond the arch, and 59% from the line. 

Calvin has begun the year with an 8-5 record and sits at 1-1 in conference. Their conference win comes against Alma while their loss comes against Albion College on the road. The Knights began the season with a 7-2 record, but have since fallen with losses over the holiday break. Calvin so far this season is averaging 78.2 points per game while shooting 48.2% from the floor.

The Bulldogs average 76.9 points per game on the year while shooting 46.1% as a team. De'Ovion Price leads Adrian with 16.2 points per game heading into the week followed by 16.1 from Connor Pelham, and 11.1 from P'hariz Watkins. Pelham also leads the team with eight boards per game followed by freshman Andrew Larson with 6.2 per game. Larson leads the team in blocks with 15 while Pelham follows with 11.

The Bulldogs are set to host Alma on Wednesday in the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center at 7:30 PM. On Saturday, the team will travel to Calvin for a scheduled 7:00 PM tip-off against the Knights.
