HOLLAND, Mich. - At the DeVos Fieldhouse, the Adrian women's basketball put forth its best offensive performance against Hope College in almost five years, but it was not enough to fend off a furious Flying Dutchmen attack, as the home side emerged with a 100-54 victory.
Senior
Chelsea Palmer and sophomore
Kiaya Warner paced the Bulldogs in scoring, contributing 12 and 10 points, respectively, plus an additional six boards from Palmer.
The hosts set their foot on the gas early, erupting for 33 points in the first frame en route to a 53-21 halftime advantage.
Despite a more closely contested second half, the Flying Dutchmen had contained the visitors just enough in the first twenty minutes to leave no doubt by the final buzzer.
Kourtney Crawford added eight points and six rebounds off the bench, while
Makayla Clement turned in four points, five rebounds and three assists.
As a team, Adrian (5-9, 2-4 MIAA) shot a game-high 71.4 percent from the foul line, and also swatted away five Hope shots to the Dutchmen's four.
The Bulldogs continue conclude their four-game conference road trip on Saturday afternoon in Grand Rapids, taking on Calvin University at 3 p.m.
