Men's Hockey to Open Lake Forest Series at Home Tonight

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Lake Forest College comes to town on Friday night to go up against the No. 1 Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team in a two-game NCHA series. The Bulldogs are coming off a five-day span of four games which kept their winning streak alive as they move to 16-1 overall and 10-0 in NCHA. Lake Forest has struggled so far this season as they sit with a 6-10-1 (4-3-1 NCHA) record and have lost three straight games.

Last weekend Adrian traveled to Finlandia where they came away with a 6-1 win and a 10-0 win before heading home to make up games against Lawrence University. During the two-game series make-up, the Bulldogs swept the series with a 7-1 and 8-1 win. On Tuesday, Rex Moe recorded his second career hat trick with a goal in the first period and two in the second period.

As a team, Adrian has scored 90 goals on 612 shots to average 5.3 goals per game while allowing 31 goals on the year for an average of 1.8 per game. Alessio Luciani continues to lead the team in points with 27 due to the help of 20 assists which leads Division III. Moe leads the team in scoring with 13 goals sitting tied for second in DIII while recording 41 shots for a shooting percentage of .317.

In goal for the Bulldogs, Cameron Gray remains undefeated with a 9-0 record with a shutout on the season and only 2.10 goals against average while stopping 91.6% of shots. Nic Tallarico has started in five games this season holding a 4-1 record with a 1.58 goals against average while stopping 93.2% of shots.

Dating back to 2009, the Bulldogs lead the all-time series against Lake Forest with a record of 32-1-1 and are currently on a six-game winning streak while winning nine of the last ten. In the Bulldogs' last match up with the Foresters, Adrian came away with a 4-0 shutout on the road last season.

Head coach Adam Krug is on his way to another milestone as he currently sits at 165 career wins sitting two behind Ron Fogarty who is the all-time wins leader as a coach in Adrian College NCAA men's hockey program history. With a sweep over the weekend, Coach Krug will tie Fogarty with the chance to take over next weekend at Concordia Wisconsin.

The Bulldogs will open the two-game series on Friday, January 21 at the Arrington Ice Arena at 7:00 PM. Game two of the series will start at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 22.
