ALBION, Mich. – The Adrian College football team traveled up to Albion College on Saturday after coming off a bye week. Things didn't go as planned for the Bulldogs as they were held to just nine points. Albion remains undefeated on the season after defeating Adrian 37-9.
The first quarter went scoreless for both teams. Albion struck first on a 20-yard interception returned for a touchdown to lead 6-0.
Walker Evans put the Bulldogs on the board with a 35-yard field goal to make it 6-3. Albion responded on the next drive with a long 62-yard touchdown pass to lead 13-3. Albion scored again before the end of the half on a four-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 20-3. With time winding down,
Aaron Jenkins launched a ball deep to
Keontae Townsend you scored on a 61-yard reception to go into halftime training 20-9.
It was all Albion the rest of the way scoring in the third quarter on a field goal and a touchdown, and again in the fourth on another touchdown.
Jenkins finished the day with 152 yards passing while
Noah Heide finished with 84 yards passing.
Steven Moses led the run game with 98 yards on the ground while Townsend finished with 176 yards receiving. The 176 yards receiving from Townsend ranks fifth all-time in program history for most receiving yards in a single game.
On defense,
Donovan McCary led the way with 11 tackles followed by ten from
Kyle Minder.
Jimerie Cannon recorded an interception for Adrian on the day to go with a pass breakup.
The Bulldogs look to finish the season strong as they are back on the road next week as they travel to Alma College. Saturday, November 5 has a scheduled kickoff of 1:00 PM.
