Diebold Gets 2nd Team All-Conference, Bulldogs Have Strong Conference Showing

SHEPHERD, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's and women's cross country teams took to the course today at the MIAA Championships hosted by Alma College where both teams set multiple personal records on what seemed to be a great day. 
 
On the Women's side: 
The Lady Dogs ran very strong, with Emme Koutz leading the way, placing 41st running a season best of 23:52. Following behind Koutz, were teammates all running their personal bests. Emma Frost placed 59th running 24:57, Kelly Fielder placed 96th with a time of 26:07, Sydney Wilkie came in at 98th running a time of 26:17, and Sara Bower finishing out the top five for the ladies placed 100th coming in at a time of 26:24. Multiple other Bulldogs had personal records on the day as well. 
 
On the Men's side: 
The Bulldogs had a strong showing this year placing in the top half of the conference beating rival Olivet College, who had taken the 4th spot from them last year. Pacing the men today was Robert Diebold who placed 15th overall and secured a spot on Second Team All-Conference running a new personal best of 25:32. Brett Carlisle also had a big day placing in the top-20 coming in 20th and setting a huge personal record by over 40 seconds running 25:58. Behind the two front runners setting multiple personal records were Will Houvener running a time of 26:54 and came in 46th place, Clayton Lynch placed 59th running a time of 27:15, and Andrew Etherington placed 66th running a 27:37 to round out the top 5. 
 
The cross country teams will be back in action for the regional meet hosted by Hope College on November 12th.
