ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team lost to Oberlin College at Merillat Sport And Fitness Center 61-43 Friday evening.
How It Happened:
The Bulldogs saw the debuts of
Aubrie Ickes (4 points, 3 rebounds) and
Morgan Babb (5 points, 1 rebound) this evening. As a team, the Bulldogs scored 12 points in the paint, had 11 second chance points, 5 fast break points and 21 bench points. 10 of the 21 points came from sophomore
Kylie Skidmore.
Kylie Skidmore's 10 points would be a career high for herself and a team high for the Bulldogs on the night. Junior
Julia Tierman had 8 of her own for the Bulldogs and finished the night with three steals, setting a new career high for herself.
The Bulldogs battled back in the second half outscoring Oberlin in the third quarter 12-10 and was outscored by just three points in the fourth. However, the second half efforts from the Bulldogs were not enough as Oberlin's first half flurry was able to carry them to a 43-61 win over the Bulldogs.
Historical Notes
Prior to tonight's game, since the 1999-2000 season, the Bulldogs had gone 12-11 in season openers. With tonight's loss, the Bulldogs sit at .500 in their last 24 home openers.
