ADRIAN, Mich. – Morgan Babb scored 17 points (6-7, FG) (3-3, 3PT) and Ashlyn Weatherly corralled 11 rebounds as the Adrian College women's basketball team routed Illinois Institute of Technology at Merillat Sport and Fitness Center 98-64 Saturday afternoon. 
 
How It Happened
The Bulldogs started off the night strong, leading 13-7 after a made layup from Kiara Wernette midway through the first quarter. The Bulldogs would end the quarter with a 13 point lead, leading  24-17. At the end of the first, the Bulldogs compiled 37 points.
 
As a team, Adrian College shot 8-14 from distance and 12-14 from the free throw line. The Bulldogs led in almost every major statistical category including points off of turnovers (14 to 8 advantage), bench points (61 to 31), points in the paint (50 to 22), and second chance points (16 to 3 advantage). 
 
The Bulldog's had a balanced effort during tonight's win: Aubrie Ickes had a career high 3 assists, Makayla Clement posted 6 rebounds, and Morgan Babb swished in 3 three pointers from deep. Tonight four Bulldogs scored in double figures and every member of the team played and scored tonight for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs capped off the game on a 12-0 run, matching their largest lead at 34 in the final minute of play with a 98-64 advantage. The Bulldogs only trailed a total of 12 seconds for the entire game. 


Historical Notes
With this afternoon's win, the Bulldogs claimed a 4-0 series lead over the Hawks, scoring an average of 85 points per game against their foes from Chicago, Illinois. Since the 2018-19 season, the Bulldogs have started the season 1-1 or better for the fifth consecutive year. Additionally, tonight's 98-point outburst was the most points the Bulldog's scored in a contest since January 18, 2020, when the Bulldogs defeated Olivet 91-67.
