ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team hit the ice on Saturday afternoon looking to split the series with Marian University in NCHA conference play. The Bulldogs did what they planned and came away with a 4-2 victory.
In the first period, Marian struck first to take a 1-0 lead just over eight minutes into the game. A little over three minutes later,
Matus Spodniak netted a goal to tie the game at 1-1.
Sam Ruffin and
Zachary Heintz recorded assists on the goal.
In the second period, Spodniak recorded his tenth goal of the season and second of the game to take a 2-1 lead.
Early in the third period, Marian found the back of the net to tie the game 2-2. Halfway through the period, the Bulldogs won a faceoff in their offensive zone and quickly scored off the stick of
John Kaljian. Later in the period, Marian was forced to pull its goaltender which allowed for Spodniak to finish the hat trick with an empty net goal.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Friday, November 18 as they travel to Trine University for game one of a two-game series to continue NCHA play. Friday's game is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
