ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team began its NCHA conference season on Saturday night as the Bulldogs hosted Marian University. The Bulldogs came away with a 9-1 victory over the Sabres to move to 5-0 on the season.
Kaleigh Cadorette put the Bulldogs on the board just under six minutes into the game.
Jaden Rilei's shot deflected off Cadorette's stick and into the back of the net to lead 1-0.
Jessica VonRuden scored a shorthanded goal picking up the rebound off a shot from
Une Bjelland. On the same penalty kill, Marian netted a goal to cut into the lead and make it 2-1 heading into the first intermission.
The Bulldogs went off for five goals in the second period.
Reaghan Pietrowski started the scoring followed by a power play goal from
Maya Roy. VonRuden netted her second of the game which resulted in her 100
th career point.
Jessica Anderson scored to make it 6-1 followed by a goal from
Jocelin Hudanish.
The Bulldogs added two more goals in the third period.
Karmen Anderson made it 8-1 before Hudanish scored shorthanded to lead 9-1.
Sophie Goldberg got the start in goal for Adrian on Saturday night recording 11 saves.
The Bulldogs will look to sweep the series against the Sabres tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 PM.
