ANOGLA, Ind. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team traveled to Trine University on Saturday night looking to complete the sweep over the Thunder. The Bulldogs came away with a 3-0 victory to sweep the series and remain undefeated all-time against the Thunder.
The first period went scoreless with the score 0-0 after the first 20 minutes of play. In the first period, the Bulldogs landed 17 shots on goal against one from Trine.
Kathryn Truban scored the first goal of the game to give Adrian a 1-0 lead in the second period. Five minutes later,
Jessica VonRuden scored a power play goal to increase the lead to 2-0. With just under four minutes to play in the second period, Alileena Dopheide made it a 3-0 game.
Kaleigh Cadorette recorded two assists during the period.
The third period also went scoreless for both teams resulting in the 3-0 final score.
Saturday night marked the 100
th career game for VonRuden.
Sophie Goldberg got the start in goal for Adrian recording four saves in a light evening of work.
The Bulldogs will return to action at home on Saturday, November 26 for a non-conference game against Chatham University. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
