ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team played its final home game of the 2022 calendar year on Thursday night as they hosted Otterbein University. The Bulldogs struggled with possession on the night totaling 22 turnovers leading the a 79-70 loss to the Cardinals.
Adrian trailed 45-34 at the end of the first half. Adrian shot 55% from the field, but struggled from beyond the arch finishing the half 2-for-10. The Bulldogs controlled the boards early with 11 rebounds against Otterbein's nine.
Victor Sheffey finished the first half with 15 points followed by six from
Kendall Bellamy and six from
De'Ovion Price.
Otterbein jumped out to a 23-point lead in the second half, but Adrian went on and cut into the deficit cutting the final score to 79-70. Sheffey finished the day with a team-high 22 points for the Bulldogs followed by 12 points from Price.
James Clay finished the day with eight points.
Adrian out-rebounded the Cardinals 28-26 on the day led by six rebounds from Bellamy. The Bulldogs finished the day shooting 50% from the field. The team struggled with possession on the night finishing with 22 turnovers which Otterbein took advantage of scoring 25 points off turnovers.
Adrian will take a short break and head to Wittenberg University for a two-day tournament where they will take on Ohio Wesleyan at 4:30 PM on Monday, December 19 followed by a 7:00 PM tip against Wittenberg on Tuesday.
