ADRIAN, Mich. -- The MIAA Tournament for men's basketball begins on Tuesday night as all eight conference teams made the playoffs due to COVID-19 and cancellations during the season. The Adrian College men's basketball team drew the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament and will head to Trine University who received the third seed. The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 5-20 record and sit 4-10 in MIAA play. Trine comes in with a 17-8 record and is 10-4 in conference.
Trine defeated the Bulldogs in both regular season match ups this season by scores of 88-63 and 82-65. Trine came to play at Adrian on during Saturday's regular season finale where Adrian took an eight-point lead into halftime. The Thunder went on to knock down shot after shot in the second half to comeback and grab the win.
In the two contests combined,
Connor Pelham led the Bulldogs with 41 points and 14 rebounds.
De'Ovion Price totaled 16 points in the first contest on the road, and ten at home on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs struggled on the glass during the games being out-rebounded in both games.
On the season, Adrian has averaged 76.2 points per game while allowing 83.1 points per game to its opponents. The Bulldogs have shot 45.9% this year, but have struggled from beyond the arc and at the free throwing line shooting28.8% from three and 64.9% from the line.
Pelham leads the team with 16.5 ppg and 7.0 rebounds per game. He has also shot 52% from the floor and is tied for the team lead in steals at 33, and is second in blocks with 20. Price averages 14.6 ppg followed by 10.0 from
Kendall Chrismon and 8.6 from
Andrew Larson. Larson is second on the team in rebounding with 6.0 per game to go with a team-high 29 blocks.
Jalen Paul leads the team with 153 assists which recently broke the record for most in a single season in Adrian men's basketball history.
Trine averages 70.5 points per game this season, but the defense has only allowed only 61 points per game. The Thunder are led by preseason All-American Nick Bowman who averages 18.7 points per game for the Thunder,

Tuesday's game will tip-off at 7:00 PM from the MTI Center on the campus of Trine University in Angola, Indiana. The winner of Adrian and Trine will take on the winner of No. 2 Calvin vs. No. 7 Alma.
