Larson's Double-Double Helps Men's Basketball Snap Five Game Skid

OLIVET, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's basketball team took on the Olivet Comets on the road on Thursday in MIAA conference play. The Bulldogs led by 14 at halftime, but slowed down early in the second half before coming away with a 15-point victory. Adrian now pulls ahead of Olivet in the conferenceĀ standings with their third MIAA win of the season.

Adrian led 47-33 after the first 20 minutes of play on Thursday. In the first half, Connor Pelham recorded 12 points to lead the Bulldogs followed by 10 from Andrew Larson and eight from De'Ovion Price. P'hariz Watkins controlled the boards in the first half with five rebounds while Larson collected four to go with one block. Jalen Paul racked up only three points in the first half, but collected six assists and three steals for Adrian.

In the second half, Olivet knocked Adrian's lead to only six at one point with less than ten minutes to go. The Bulldogs battled to go up later in the game with the help of 11 second half points from Larson and Price. Pelham added nine, and Nick Seifert put up six. Larson recorded eight second half rebounds as part of the team's 24 second half boards. After a slow start to the half, Adrian ended up shooting 52.6% in second half to lead them to a 98-83 win.

Pelham and Larson each finished with 21 points while Larson completed a double-double with 12 rebounds. Price finished with 19 points for the black and gold followed by 11 from Kendall Chrismon. Paul ended up fouling out of the game, but not before he picked up ten assists to give him his fourth double-digit assist of the season.

Adrian has a quick turnaround as the Bulldogs will travel up to Hope College on Saturday, February 5 to take on the Flying Dutchmen in another MIAA battle.
