ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team hosted the Albion College Britons on Wednesday in the first game of the home stand. After falling in game one of the two-game season series against Albion, the Bulldogs looked to bounce back to force a split. Things didn't go the Bulldogs' way as they dropped the contest 87-60.
Albion came out hot and took an early 17-5 lead in the first half with eight minutes played. A layup and a pair of free throws from
Josh Rechsteiner put the score at 19-9. The Bulldogs picked up the offense, but the Britons were right there to answer back. After a made basket and a flagrant foul against Albion,
Connor Pelham turned a layup to a four-point play to put Adrian within ten. Follow and exchange of two-point baskets, Albion took the lead into halftime by a score of 32-25.
The Bulldogs couldn't put anything together in the second half while Albion kept it's foot on the gas. Adrian shot 12-of-30 for the second half while the Britons shot 22-of 46. Adrian lost the second half 53-35 to fall by an overall score of 87-60.
Pelham finished with a team-high 11 points with six rebounds for the Bulldogs.
The next time Adrian will take the court will be on Saturday, February 12 at 5:00 PM as they host the Kalamazoo College Hornets.
