ORLANDO, Fla. - At the U.S.T.A. National Training Center, the Bulldog men's tennis team opened up its Spring Break trip with two match-ups with Piedmont University and Concordia-Moorhead.
Â
Match 1: Adrian 1, Piedmont 8
The Bulldogs got off to a tough start against the Lions, as the eventual victors won each of the six singles matches en route to the victory.
Adrian's did secure a point, however, in the double segment of the competition, and it was the duo of
Joey Quigley and
Zachary Perry getting the job done, 8-6.
Â
Match 2: Adrian 5, Concordia-Moorhead 4
In Adrian's second contest of the day, the pair of
Ryan Cuddy and
Jackson Wilcox got the ball rolling with a win in their doubles match, then the action in the singles portion took over.
Sebastian Cowan, Quigley,
Darren Walter and Whitman Hooped all notched individual victories, each in straight sets.
The 'Dogs performance in the latter matches of the contest proved to be the difference as they held on for a one-point win.
Â
Much like the Bulldog women, the men will resume play on Wednesday with another doubleheader against Houghton College and Regis College. It all begins at 9 a.m.
