GAMBIER, Ohio -- The RV Adrian College men's lacrosse team opened its week with a road trip to Kenyon College on Wednesday for a nonconference matchup. The Bulldogs struggled offensively dropping the contest by a score of 14-5.
Chris French collected two of Adrian's five goals to put him closer to his 100th career goal milestone.
It was scoreless for the first nine and a half minutes of the game on Wednesday until Kenyon broke the silence to go up 1-0. With 1:33 to go in the first quarter, Kenyon had racked up two more goals to lead 3-0. With under a minute to go,
Peyton Gasche found the back of the net to put the Bulldogs on the board.
Kenyon began the second quarter hot scoring five unanswered goals before
Chris French broke up the run to make it an 8-2 game. Kenyon went on to score once more before the half ended to lead 9-2 at the break.Â
The third period was silent both ways bringing the 9-2 score into the fourth quarter. Kenyon added a goal to start the fourth which was quickly answered by a second goal from French to bring the score to 10-3. After another Kenyon goal,
Michael Jonas and
Derek Hassel netted back-to-back goals to trail 11-5. Kenyon finished the game on a 3-0 run to come away with a 14-5 win.
Sam Spangler recorded the loss in goal allowing 14 goals with 13 saves.
Mason Obeldobel finished the game in goal for Adrian recording a save in three minutes of play.
The Bulldogs are back on the road on Saturday as they travel to Wabash College for a 2:00 PM game in Crawfordsbille, Indiana.
