ADRIAN, Mich. - At Docking Stadium, the Adrian women's lacrosse team put forth a relentless effort against Rochester University, dominating the visiting Warriors 20-0 en route to its first win of the year.
It is the first time Adrian has scored 20-or-more goals in a single game since April 19, 2019 against Olivet.
The Bulldogs (1-2) poured on 23 shots in the first half, and did not allow their opposition to register a shot until the second half. All told, the black and gold muscled 38 shots to the Warriors' two, helping guide head coach
Kali Bills to her first-ever win at Adrian, and first win all-time as an NCAA coach.
"The amount of trust and teamwork on the field today was insurmountable," expressed Bills. "Today's efforts are a result of our players' commitment to each other and to the team as whole."
It was in the first quarter that Adrian did most of its damage, breaking the ice with the game's first goal after just 47 seconds from
Maggie Bean. Then, 29 seconds later, the 'Dogs leading scorer
Olive Stevens made her presence felt with her sixth goal of the season.
With a quick 2-0 advantage, the Bulldogs kept the pressure on, as
Carlee Casteel ripped off back-to-back goals in an 86-second span to double the lead, just like that. Not long after, only a minute, in fact,
Cassidy McGeorge got her name on the scoresheet not once, but twice, tallying a goal of her own before assisting on another strike from Stevens. The senior finished off the first quarter barrage in the final minute, securing her second-straight outing with three-or-more goals.
Adrian went on to score five goals in both the second and third quarters before closing the afternoon with three goals in the fourth.
Zoe Weber was among those scorers, contributing her first three tallies of 2022. Other first-time contributors for the Bulldogs on Wednesday included

Joscelyn Potter, as well as McGeorge.
By the end of the day, nine different Bulldogs recorded multiple points, including Stevens, Casteel and Weber, who each picked up five.
The 'Dogs played an efficient game defensively. Aside from limiting the Rochester offense in shots, Adrian caused 12 turnovers and was a perfect 6-for-6 on clear attempts.
Avery Huxter had a quiet day between the posts for the black and gold, but nevertheless was credited with her first-career victory as a goalie.
After ending their season-opening homestand on a high note, the women now hit the road for the first time season when they visit Anderson University in Indiana on Saturday.
