MEQUON, Wis. - Inside the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse, the Adrian acrobatics and tumbling team set new season-highs in four different events, but could not avenge an early-season loss to the homestanding Concordia-Wisconsin Falcons, falling 246.705 to 243.545.
In the Compulsory portion of the meet, the Bulldogs got off to a strong start with the acrobatics heat of
Hailey Brower,
Leah Canterbury,
Payton Young and
Izzy Dominguez. However, the Falcons got the better of the black and gold over the remaining three heats, ultimately taking the Compulsory segment, 33.75 to 32.20, which would be the first of Adrian's new season-best scores.
The action was a little tighter in the Acro event, but despite the 'Dogs picking up two heat wins, Concordia was able to steal the second portion of the afternoon by a narrow 0.05. With an Acro score of 27.55, Adrian bested its previous season-high by over one point.
Then, in the Pyramid portion, the black and gold pulled right back into contention with a 27.70-26.65 victory, led by the middle heat, which outscored Concordia by 1.10.
From there, the Falcons outpaced the visitors in each of the final three events, but Adrian did, nevertheless, nab two more team-best scores in the Toss and Tumbling events en route to its new season-high total of 243.545.
The locals conclude their 2022 season at home on April 2 against Trine University. It will also be the 'Dogs "Senior Day!"
