WOOSTER, Ohio - At John P. Papp Stadium, the Adrian women's lacrosse team saw their season-best win-streak come to close at the hands of the College of Wooster.
The homestanding Scots outscored the Bulldogs (4-4) 13-4 in the first half, and went on to shutout the visitors in the second half to seal an 18-4 victory.
Olive Stevens paced the black and gold offense with three points on a pair of goals and one assist. The other two Adrian goals were provided by
Brooke Barabas and
Joscelyn Potter.
It was a quiet start to the evening's contest, with Wooster eventually opening the scoring after three minutes. After the Scots quickly added a second to go up 2-0, Stevens got the 'Dogs in business with her 24th tally of the season.
The home side tacked on three more goals, however, before the end of the first quarter, giving them a 5-1 advantage after 15 minutes.
In the second quarter, Adrian tried to keep pace with its opposition, garnering strikes from Stevens, Barabas and Potter, but the Wooster offense proved to be too much in the end.
In her second-career start,
Jordan Hunt made eight saves between the pipes for the Bulldogs.
The women's lacrosse team hosts Siena Heights University next on Sunday afternoon, wrapping up the local's non-conference schedule for 2022.
