ADRIAN, Mich. - At Docking Stadium, the Adrian College women's lacrosse team had a difficult time hanging with Albion College's high-powered offense, ultimately falling to the visitors, 16-5.
The Britons built a lead of a half-dozen over the course of the first quarter, and despite the Bulldogs (4-8, 0-3 MIAA) notching one goal in the frame's final minute, it was all Albion from there.
Even after trailing 12-2 at the end of the first half, the black and gold stayed resilient, outshooting their opposition 11-5 over the final 30 minutes, and forcing 10 turnovers to their own six.
All told, Adrian created a game-high 23 Albion miscues, and was five-percent better than the Britons overall on clear attempts.
On "Senior Day" for the women's lacrosse program, it was a trio of Bulldog seniors providing the offense.
Carlee Casteel and
Brooke Barabas closed the afternoon with two goals each, while
Olive Stevens rounded out the home side's scoring with one goal.
Freshman
Lucia Commare also found her way onto the scoresheets for Adrian, contributing one assist in the first half.
In goal,
Jordan Hunt posted her sixth-straight complete-game effort, making four saves.
Adrian begins the second-half of conference-play back at Docking Stadium next Tuesday evening against Trine University.
