ADRIAN, Mich. - On Wednesday, the Adrian College men's and women's tennis teams will travel to Hope College for their respective season finales.
The Bulldog women (8-10, 3-4 MIAA) can match the second-highest single-season win-total in program history against the Flying Dutchmen, but they will have to pull off their first-ever victory in the all-series to do so.
The men (9-9, 3-3 MIAA), on the other hand, can secure their first 10-win campaign since 2017 with a triumph on Wednesday.
In last week's non-conference defeat of Spring Arbor University, junior
Ryan Cuddy (10-8) became the first member of the men's team to surpass the 10-win threshold this season. He enters the final conference match of 2022 with a team-best 4-1 record against in-league opponents, with all four of his victories coming in straight-sets. Cuddy and his doubles partner
Brandon Falk have won two of their last three duals as a pair, and are currently 2-3 in conference-play.
Individually, Falk (7-6) has also won two of his last three outings, pushing him above 0.500 on the year.
On the women's side, the 'Dogs are looking to end their season on a high note after losing their two-match win-streak to Saint Mary's on Saturday.
Jules Johnson (13-3) ran her win-streak in singles up to three in the loss, while
Liv Depies collected her second consecutive victory to improve to 11-6.
The Flying Dutchmen women (14-7, 6-0 MIAA) have outscored their last five opponents by an average of 8-1, including three shutouts.
In the No. 1 singles slot, Sydney Jackson in 14-10 overall this season, and has yet to be unended in conference-action. Her teammate Sullivan Patel (18-7) carries an identical mark against MIAA opponents, and is currently riding a team-high five-match win-streak.
The Hope men (6-12, 5-1 MIAA) have won five of their last seven matches after losing eight-straight at one point. Most recently, however, the Dutch were handled by Kalamazoo, 7-2.
