ADRIAN, Mich. - At the Craft Tennis Complex, the Adrian women's tennis team hosted its first outdoor conference match of the season, welcoming Calvin University. The visiting Knights came to play spoiler, however, dealing the Bulldogs their second consecutive league-loss, 8-1.

Calvin took control early in Tuesday afternoon's contest, picking up a three-point sweep in doubles action. Then, the Knights stayed on a roll en route to five victories out of the six singles bouts.

Senior Jules Johnson (10-2) recorded the black and gold's lone win on the day, defeating Calvin's Emily Schellenboom in the No. 1 Singles' slot; 6-3, 6-1. With that result, she becomes the first Bulldog tennis player, women's or men's, to break into double-figures in the win column this season.

The Adrian women return to the courts on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Kalamazoo College to take on the Hornets. The action is slated to begin at 11 a.m. with the men, followed by the women at 2 p.m.
