ALLIANCE, Ohio - At Mount Union Stadium, Bulldog track and field athletes
Derek Plitt and
Cailey Beaudoin solidified their spots in next week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
In the 100-meter dash, Plitt finished atop the preliminary standings with a time of 10.49, which matches his current seeded time on the NCAA's Performance List. The senior did not race in the event finals, and will now turn his attention to his second-ever national championship appearance for outdoor track.
Elsewhere on Thursday, Beaudoin turned in a second-place effort in the high jump with a leap of 1.58 meters. The two-time MIAA outdoor champion in the event will join Plitt at next week's national meet in Ohio, where she is actively seeded 12th.
The 2022 NCAA Division III National Championships are slated to take place from May 26-28 at the S.P.I.R.E. Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
While Beaudoin is on track to compete solely in the high jump, Plitt will put his speed to the test in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes.
