NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Adrian College women's tennis team took home a pair of victories on Saturday on the road at Manchester University. The Bulldogs went up against Hanover College to start the day winning the match 6-3. Adrian then faced Manchester and came away with a 7-2 win.
Jules Johnson and
Elizabeth Himebauch lost a tight match at No. 1 Doubles against Hanover 8-7.
Liv Depies and
Claire Earley won 8-1 at No. 2 Doubles followed by an 8-7 win at No. 3 Doubles from
Bethany Posey and
Vasiliki Gargasoulas.
Johnson dropped her match at No. 1 Singles, but was picked up by Himebauch who won at No. 2 Singles. Earley, Depies,
Bethany Posey took home wins in Singles to lock up the Adrian victory.
Brooke Posey struggled at No. 6 Singles losing both sets 6-3.
Against Manchester, Adrian lost at No. 1 Doubles by forfeit but won 8-1 at No. 2 and No. 3 with wins from duos of Depies and Earley along with
Maddison Wagner and Gargasoulas.
Adrian forfeited at No. 1 Singles but swept the rest of the way. Himebauch won 6-2 and 6-3 at No. 2 while Earley won 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 3. Depies swept at No. 4, 6-2 and 6-1, while
Ava Hovey and
Regan Snyder swept in their matches.
The Bulldogs will host its first match of the fall season on Saturday, September 17 at 12PM when they host Anderson University for their next match.
