DEFIANCE, Ohio -- The Adrian College men's soccer team continued its non-conference season on Wednesday as they traveled to Defiance College. The Bulldogs went down early, but began a comeback which fell short as Adrian lost 2-1.
Defiance got on the board early to take a 1-0 lead on a Yellow Jacket goal in the fourth minute. Adrian totaled six shots in the first half with two on goal, but trailed 1-0 at halftime.Â
Defiance added a second goal in the 53rd minute to lead 2-0. Adrian picked up the intensity late in the match and forced a penalty kick.
Juan Tapia took the penalty kick and scored late to make it a one-goal game.
Adrian continued its opportunities in the second half with seven shots and five on goal, but the Bulldogs couldn't tie the match.
Adrian will turn things around quickly with a home match on Saturday, September 17 at 7:00 PM.
