BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Adrian College football team is coming off its first win of the season looking to keep it going. The Bulldogs traveled to Bluffton University on Saturday night to take on the Beavers. Adrian's offense came read to play as they blew out Bluffton by a score of 58-23.
Jimmie Clark put Adrian up 7-0 on a 20-yard rush. On the possession, Adrian scored on two plays for 58 yards. Bluffton got on the board later in the quarter on a field goal to make it 7-3.
Aaron Jenkins extended the Adrian lead with a 25-yard rushing touchdown which was later followed by a
Walker Evans field goal to lead 17-3. With just over six minutes left in the first half,
Steven Moses ran for a 3-yard touchdown which he later followed up with a 23-yard touchdown. The Bulldogs scored once more before the end of the half on a 24-yard pass from
Jack Kujawa to his brother
Kenny Kujawa for a touchdown.
Bluffton scored before halftime to bring the score to 38-10 in favor of the Bulldogs.
In the second half, Moses ran in his third touchdown of the game to make it 45-10.
Salvatore Patierno put his name in the scoring summary with a 1-yard rush to make it 52-10. Bluffton responded with a touchdown of their own to make it 52-16 and failed the 2-point conversion.
Taj Williams went on to score a touchdown for the Bulldogs to lead 58-16. Bluffton scored towards the end of the half to make the final score 58-23.
Jack Kujawa led the passing game with 102 yards passing and a touchdown on five completions. Moses led the way on the ground with 90 yards rushing on 14 attempts with three scores.
Kenny Kujawa finished the game with three receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown.
On defense,
Kyle Minder led the Bulldogs with six tackles followed by five from
Donovan McCary,
Jimerie Cannon, and
Tche Leroux.
Waides Ashmon had an interception with a 21-yard return while
Brandon Kwiatkowski had an interception with a nine-yard return.
The Bulldogs will return to Docking Stadium next weekend when they host Finlandia University on Homecoming. Kick-off for the Saturday, September 24 football game is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
