ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College women's volleyball had its first home match of the season on Tuesday night as they hosted the Trine University Thunder. The Bulldogs won 3-1 and got their revenge from the 2021 MIAA Tournament where Trine ended Adrian's season. The Bulldogs dropped the first set 25-23, but bounced back and took the final three sets to win the match.
In the first set, the Bulldogs fell by a score of 25-23. Adrian totaled 13 kills with nine errors on 51 totals attacks. In the second set, Adrian came back to 25-16. The Bulldogs finished the second set with nine kills on 44 attacks. Adrian then went on to win the third set 25-18 and the fourth set 25-14. The Bulldogs finished the match with ten kills and 11 kills in the final two sets.
The Bulldogs finished the match with 43 kills with 30 errors on 175 attacks to finish with an attack percentage of .074. The Bulldogs averaged 24 digs per set on Tuesday night being led by
Mya Minjares with 30 followed by
Maddy Peters with 16,
Amber Morris with 14, and
Lana Cox with 14.
Morris led the team with 12 kills on the night followed by ten from
Mallory Dorow.
Hailey Farrell finished with 39 assists for the Bulldogs and a team-high four aces.
Adrian moves to 8-5 on the season and start 1-0 in the MIAA. The Bulldogs will return to the court at home against Alma College at 11:00 AM.
