Bulldogs Snap Four Game Skid Behind Double-Double from Bellamy

ALMA, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team traveled up to Alma College on Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs were looking to get out of their slump with its first MIAA win of the season. Adrian went on to defeat the Scots by a score of 80-65.
 
The Bulldogs jumped out to an 8-2 lead after six straight points from De'Ovion Price and a basket from Nick Seifert. Kendall Bellamy made a layup followed by another basket from Price to lead by ten. Alma battled back and tied the game 21-21 with 10:19 to go in the half. The Scots continued its run to lead by four, but Adrian came back to steal the lead. Bellamy, Kendall Chrismon, and Jonathan Duvall finished the scoring in the first half giving the Bulldogs a 39-33 lead at the break.
 
Bellamy recorded back-to-back baskets to begin the second half and lead by ten. Alma brought the deficit to seven, but Adrian responded to lead by 12 with the help of baskets from Deonta Pearson and Chrismon. The Bulldogs kept their foot on the gas and gave themselves their biggest lead of the game at 18 with 2:52 to go. Outside of an Alma free throw, Adrian held the Scots scoreless from 7:23 until 2:43 left in the game. The Bulldogs stayed ahead for the final minutes to come away with the win.
 
Bellamy finished the day with a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Price led the scoring with 23 points on the night to go with seven rebounds. Chrismon and Pearson finished the game in double digits with 11 points for Chrismon and 10 for Pearson.
 
The Bulldogs will look to expand on its MIAA conference victory on Saturday at home when they host Calvin University at 5:00 PM.
