Men's Basketball Square Up in Holland; Falls to Hope 74-60

HOLLAND, Mich. —  Wednesday night, the Adrian College men's basketball team traveled up to the DeVos Fieldhouse to take on the Flying Dutchman of Hope College. The team fell by a score of 74-60 dropping the team to 4-12 (1-4 MIAA) on the season.

The Bulldogs came out in the first half striking with a three point shot by Josh Rechsteiner. The Dutchman and Bulldogs went back and forth for roughly seven minutes through the first half, until Hope hit a few free throws and a couple of key shots including a three pointer. The Hope lead got to as many as 14 which ended the first half, 39-25.

Adrian came out in the second half looking to eliminate the deficit. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, they could only get the Flying Dutchman lead down to seven in the beginning of the second. From there, Hope went on to increase the lead back to 14 and win the game.

De'Ovion Price led the Bulldogs with 18 points, two rebounds and a pair steals on the night, while Kendall Chrismon chipped in with 11 points and two steals as well. Multiple other Bulldogs got in on the action of scoring as well including Kendall Bellamy who contributed seven points with eight rebounds and Nick Seifert who added six points with two assists and three rebounds.

The men's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday January 21st where tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM. Adrian looks to secure a victory against conference opponent Albion College and break a five game losing streak against the Britons.
