ADRIAN, Mich. — On Saturday, the Adrian College women's basketball team faced conference opponent Albion College where they were the first game of the double header looking to defend their home court.
The Bulldogs fought well with the Britons through the first quarter finding themselves only down two starting the second quarter. Albion continued the streak of scoring 16 points as they ended the first half leading Adrian 32-25.
Albion came out hard in the third quarter putting up big numbers hitting key shots to try and seal the game up. The Britons entered the fourth quarter with a comfortable lead up 53-34. The fourth quarter started and the Adrian started their big run to get back into the game. While playing good defense, the Bulldogs held Albion to a season low in scoring for a quarter to nine points. Adrian put up 29 points in the fourth quarter to seal a complete comeback winning the game 63-62. With time winding down and trailing 62-60,
Jordan Phillips found herself open to knock down a three-pointer with a second to go.
Phillips was the leading scorer for Adrian, who knocked down four-of-six shots from beyond the three-point line.
Kiaya Warner had a phenomenal day from the arc shooting 75 percent and scoring 12 points on the day.
Kylie Skidmore also had a strong outing scoring 11 points.
This puts the Bulldogs at a record of 8-10 overall (4-5 MIAA). Adrian will be back at it on Wednesday, January 25 where they will travel up to Grand Rapids to take on the Knights of Calvin University. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
