GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team traveled to Calvin University on Saturday afternoon for another MIAA contest. After losing at home a little while ago to the Knights by five, the Bulldogs looked to win the rematch. Adrian struggled on the road and dropped the contest the Calvin 66-41.
Adrian struggled in the first half trailing 33-14 after 20 minutes of play. With only 14 first half points, Adrian totaled just four scorers in the first half.
De'Ovion Price scored six of the team's points followed by four from
Victor Sheffey and three from
Michael Rightnowar. The Bulldogs couldn't catch a break in the first half shooting 6-of-28 for a percentage of 21.4%. Calvin found the basket in the first half finishing 14-of-31 for a percentage of 45.2%. The Bulldogs were just 1-of-14 from beyond the arc and were out-rebounded in the first half 27-14.
Adrian was better in the second half where they totaled 27 points. Price was the leading scorer on the day with seven points followed by six from
Josh Rechsteiner.
Reed Schilling and
Obadiah James added five points apiece.
The Bulldogs finished 14-of-59 shooting on the day while Calvin was 26-of-58. Adrian struggled on the boards as they were out-rebounded 54-30.
The Bulldogs will return home next week and host Olivet College on Wednesday, February 1 at 7:30 PM.
