OLIVET, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team began MIAA play on Wednesday night as they traveled to Olivet College. The Bulldogs struggled shooting from deep and dropped the contest 77-63.
De'Ovion Price led the way with 24 points for Adrian.
Price played 17 minutes in the first half totaling 10 points while shooting 4-for-9.
Nick Seifert added eight points in the half while
Josh Rechsteiner and
Reed Schilling totaled four points each. Olivet controlled the boards in the first half winning the rebound battle, 21-14. Adrian trailed 46-34 after the first 20 minutes shooting 48.1% against Olivet's 50% shooting percentage.
Price stayed hot in the second half totaling 14 points while shooting 6-for-8.
Kendall Bellamy added four points in the half along with Rechsteiner and
Chace Fields. The Bulldogs struggled from 3-point land finishing the second half 1-of-11 from beyond the arch while Olivet finished with a 71.4% 3-point percentage. Adrian went on to lose the second half 31-29 making the final score 77-64.
Price led all scorers with 24 points on the night followed by nine points from
Nick Seifert who also collected seven rebounds. Rechsteiner finished the day with eight points and four rebounds with two assists.
The Bulldogs will look to earn a MIAA win this weekend as they host Kalamazoo College on Saturday, January 7 at 4:00 PM. Prior to Saturday's contest, Adrian will honor the 2019-20 men's basketball team which was the first team in program history to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
