ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team hosted Kalamazoo College on Saturday afternoon in an MIAA battle. The Bulldogs and the Hornets needed more than 40 minutes to decide a winner. After a pair of overtime periods, Kalamazoo came away with an 87-86 win.
It was a battle from the beginning as Adrian trailed 36-35 at the half. The Bulldogs shot 43.5% while the Hornets finished the half shooting 50%. The Bulldogs led by as many as nine in the second half with 10:14 to go in regulation. Kalamazoo battled back forcing the Adrian lead to three. With less than a second left in regulation Kalamazoo hit a buzzer beating three-pointer to force overtime at 71-71.
Adrian went on to lead by six in the first overtime.

Kendall Bellamy, and
De'Ovion Price scored for the Bulldogs. Kalamazoo cut the lead to two, and after a made free throw from the Adrian, Kalamazoo hit another three-pointer with two seconds left and force a second overtime.
In the second overtime, Seifert made back-to-back free throws to lead by two followed by a jumper from Price to make it 86-82 in favor of Adrian. Kalamazoo scored to make it a two-point game and after a missed shot from the Bulldogs took the lead on another made three-pointer bringing the score to 87-86 with a second to go forcing the final score.
Price led Adrian with 23 points on the afternoon followed by 20 from Seifert.
Deonta Pearson added 13 points off the bench while Bellamy finished the day with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Adrian will look to grab its first MIAA win of the season on Wednesday, January 11 as they travel to Alma College for a 7:30 PM game.
