ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team won its third game in four contests Saturday afternoon behind
Kiaya Warner's season high 12 points.
How It Happened
The Bulldogs outscored the Hornets in every quarter this afternoon, with their largest outburst occurring in the third quarter, 29-6. The Bulldogs were able to distance the scoring gap from Kalamazoo simply by their defensive effort to begin the second half.
The Bulldogs were able to take over the game in the third quarter, out-scoring their foes from Kalamazoo 29-6. The Bulldogs would lead by 32 on two occasions in the quarter with the help of starting the second half on a 31-2 run, which was capped off by a layup from Kylie Skidmore with 3:45 remaining in the third. In the third quarter, Kalamazoo was limited in their scoring options. The Bulldogs were able hold Kalamazoo to scoring off of layups and free throws in the period.
As a team, the Bulldogs scored 46 points off the bench, 46 points in the paint, and capitalized on turnovers scoring 30 points off of the Hornet's miscues. As a team the Bulldogs had another balanced scoring game, with seven players scoring six or more points on the afternoon.
Jordan Phillips Three Point Percentage Tracker
Jordan Phillips continued her career-high stretch of making at least one three-pointer in a game Saturday afternoon, knocking down a triple with 5:29 remaining in the first quarter. After today, Phillips has recorded at least one three pointer in six consecutive games, drawing her total to 24 on the season and 55 for her career. Phillips now needs five more three pointers to qualify for the Adrian College women's basketball all-time three point percentage list.
