ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team put on a show on Saturday afternoon with another victory that came down to the wire. The Bulldogs wrapped up its series with MSOE coming away with a 3-2 victory with time ticking down in overtime.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the first period with a goal from
Connor May to lead 1-0. Thirteen seconds later, MSOE found the back of the net to make it 1-1. In the second period, MSOE took the lead with a power play goal to go up 2-1. In the third period,
Ryan Pitoscia received a pass from
Julien Jacob and
Dershahn Stewart to tie things up at 2-2.
It took an overtime period to determine a winner on Saturday. With two seconds left on the clock, Jacob made a move on the MSOE goaltender to score his first collegiate goal to win the game.
The Bulldogs would go on to sweep MSOE in the two-game series after winning Friday night with 13 seconds left in regulation.
Adrian outshot MSOE 45-18 on the afternoon. Stewart got the start in goal for the Bulldogs where he finished the day with 16 saves.
Adrian will travel to Aurora University next weekend for a Harris Cup Final rematch. The Bulldogs will take on the Spartans on Friday, November 17 at 8:00 PM EST followed by game two of the series on Saturday.
