ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team took on cross-town rival Siena Heights University on Tuesday evening. The Bulldogs would lose their matchup against the Saints, 60-40.
In the first half of play Adrian was down six points going into the halftime break. A back and forth first quarter ended with Siena Heights up one, 17-16.
Bailey Taylor led Adrian with eight points through 20 minutes of play. The Bulldogs shot 26.7% from the field and 25% from the three-point line.
In the second half, Adrian started off slow and the Saints took advantage by going on a 20-8 run in the third quarter. The Bulldogs would eventually lose the fourth quarter as well bringing the final score, 40-60.
To lead the Bulldogs was
Kali Barber with nine points off the bench followed by Taylor with eight and
Morgan Babb with seven.
Ashlyn Weatherly would total 10 rebounds on the evening with Taylor grabbing five of her own. Barber was also the assist leader for Adrian with three.
Adrian will start conference play on Wednesday, November 29 inside the Merillat Performance Gym against Kalamazoo College.
