MEQUON, Wis. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team traveled to Concordia Wisconsin for a two-game conference series which kicked off Friday night. After a slow start to the game, the Bulldogs ramped up the offense and defeated the Falcons, 9-1.
The game was scoreless through the first period and most of the second. With just over half way played in the second period,
Jocelin Hudanish scored to give Adrian a 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later,
Zoe Lohrei found the back of the net to lead 2-0. Concordia Wisconsin answered back to make it a one-goal game, but
Callie Wollschlager made it 3-1 on a power play.
Lindsey Sorrell went on to score a goal followed by a goal from
Gia Avalone to give the Bulldogs a 5-1 lead entering the third period.
In the third period, Adrian added four goals to come away with a 9-1 victory. All four goals came off the stick of
Une Bjelland to give her a hat trick and then more. Friday night marked the fourth hat trick of Bjelland's career and he second four-goal performance of the season.
Vanessa Ruban made her first appearance of the season in goal where she picked up the win while totaling 17 saves.
Adrian will wrap up the two-game series with Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday, December 2 at 4:00 PM EST.
