OLIVET, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team took on The University of Olivet for a MIAA contest on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs would not shoot the ball very well and would end up losing to the Comets, 33-46.
It was a slow start for Adrian as they only scored six points in the first quarter compared to the Comet's 11.
Kylie Skidmore would score all six points for the Bulldogs in the first 10 minutes of play. In the second quarter the Bulldogs would tally only three points while The University of Olivet would only record five points in the second period. Three free throws would be the lone points scored in the second quarter. Adrian would go 2-27 (7.5%) through the first two quarters and go 5-10 from the free-throw line.
To start the second half, Skidmore would score a layup in the first possession. It was a back-and-forth third quarter and Adrian would end up winning the quarter 16-14. The Bulldogs would only be down 24-30 going into the last period. The Comets would own the fourth quarter of play where they won the quarter by a margin of eight points. Adrian would fall to the University of Olivet by a score of 33-46. The Bulldogs would end the day shooting 17.5% from the field and go 2-16 from beyond the arc.
To lead the Bulldogs was Skidmore with 13 points followed by
Julia Tierman with six.
Ashlyn Weatherly would total six rebounds and
Olivia Green dished out two assists through the forty minutes of play.
Adrian will play at home inside the Merillat Performance Gym on Wednesday, December 20 at 6:00 PM against Bluffton University.
