ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey wrapped up its two-game home series with Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs went on to sweep the Falcons after a Saturday victory by a score of 6-2.
Zachary Heintz grabbed a pair of first period goals to lead 2-0 after 20 minutes of play.
Bradley Somers and
Jaden Shields added an assist on the first goal while
Mathew Rehding and Somers added assists on the second goal. Adrian extended the lead to 3-0 in the second period on a goal from Somers which was assisted by Shields and Heintz.
Adrian added three goals in the third period off the sticks of Rehding,
Ryan Pitoscia, and
Ian Amsbaugh. Concordia Wisconsin sneaked in a pair of goals in the third, but it wasn't enough to come back and defeat the Bulldogs.
Nolan Suggs earned his first collegiate start in goal on Saturday where he finished the game with 25 saves.
The Bulldogs will return to action next weekend with a two-game series against Augsburg University. The series will begin on Friday, December 8 at 7PM at the Arrington Ice Arena.
