NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team opened its weekend in South Carolina on Saturday morning. The No. 6 Bulldogs took on Williams College in a game hosted by the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays. After a battle through the first two periods, Adrian came alive in the third netting four goals to win 5-1.
The first period was scoreless for both sides before being broken 18 seconds into the second period on a goal from
Jocelin Hudanish. Late in the second period, Williams tied the game at 1-1 heading into the third. In the third period, the Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead on a goal from
Kathryn Truban.
Une Bjelland made a highlight play shooting the puck from behind the net and off the goaltender's helmet into the net to lead 3-1. Late in the third, Williams pulled its goaltender allowing Bjelland to score and empty net goal which was followed by another empty netter from
Nicole Pietrucha.

Karmen Anderson, and
Maya Roy all recorded assists in the game.
Annie Gilbert got the start in goal for the Bulldogs where she finished the day with 17 saves. As a team, Adrian out shot Williams, 51-18.
Adrian will wrap up the weekend with a game against Bowdoin College on Sunday, December 31 at 11:00 AM at the Carolina Ice Palace in North Charleston, South Carolina.
